Sycamore Kennels is dedicated to producing performance Labrador Retrievers with the temperament, health, athletic ability and trainability to succeed in the home, ring and field.
Our goal is not to breed for only one venue. We strive to produce versatile Labradors capable of becoming valued family companions, hunting partners and competitors in hunt tests, field trials, agility, obedience, rally, dock diving, scent work and other performance sports.

Every Sycamore breeding is planned with purpose. Titles and accomplishments are important, but they are only part of the decision.
We evaluate health, temperament, structure, pedigree compatibility, trainability, marking ability, athleticism and the individual strengths and weaknesses of both dogs. Our objective is to preserve exceptional Labrador qualities while continually improving the next generation.
Our breeding dogs complete appropriate health testing before being included in the Sycamore breeding program. Testing may include OFA evaluations of hips, elbows, eyes and cardiac health, along with breed-relevant genetic screening.
Official health information is provided on each breeding dog's profile whenever available. Prospective puppy owners are encouraged to review those results and ask questions.
Our responsibility does not end when puppies are born. We focus on early development, appropriate socialization, environmental exposure and evaluating each puppy's temperament and potential.
Puppies are placed according to the needs of the puppy and the goals of the prospective home. Proven competition homes may receive preference for certain performance-focused breedings, while other puppies may be better suited for hunting, sport or active family homes.
A reservation represents consideration for placement and does not guarantee a specific puppy before the litter has been evaluated.
We remain invested in every Labrador carrying the Sycamore name. We enjoy following their progress, celebrating their accomplishments and supporting owners throughout the lives of their dogs.

Our Commitment to Transparency
OFA Health Evaluations
Breeding dogs are evaluated for hips, elbows, eyes and cardiac health through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. Results are publicly available and linked directly on each dog's profile.
Embark Genetic Screening
Breed-relevant genetic conditions are screened through Embark. We share results openly so prospective owners can make informed decisions with confidence.
CHIC Certification
Dogs meeting the Canine Health Information Center requirements carry a CHIC number, confirming that all breed-recommended health tests have been completed and results are publicly recorded.

Our relationship with puppy owners does not end at placement. We remain a resource throughout the life of every Sycamore Labrador — for training questions, health concerns and celebrating milestones.
